Opening Night Asian Film Festival
D. Reeves Productions helped to coordinate, decorate and set the tone of the opening night party for the Asian Film Festival, held at Lumi in Uptown. This was the 10th Anniversary of the festival and it was jam packed. We added screens which showed films from the festivals history, beautiful flowers and beautiful models to help add to the already electric atmosphere. Great music, great people , great opening night to an amazing film festival.
Texas Discovery Gardens: Organic in the City Show
April was a busy month. I produced a show at the Texas Discovery Garden, which is the butterfly garden. BEAUTIFUL. The fashion show, Organic in the City, was all about sustainable, refurbished, recycled and natural fabrics. Fashions from El Centro and Nicolas Villalba and ReWorked were great. A great music mix of Indie music and live performances from Tomas Sclar. I’ll post photos soon.
BET Rip the Runway
I was lucky enough to work backstage on BET’s Rip the Runway. The hosts were Selita Ebanks, a Victoria Secret model and Mehcad Brooks from True Blood. The Designers this year were Rachel Roy, Man vs Machine, Way it Should Be, Tennille White, Lila Nikole, LaQuan Smith. I worked on the opening and closing ceremony which had a carnival theme. Some amazing and fun costumes. The performers were Keri Hilson, New Boyz, Lloyd, Melanie Fiona, Fabolous, Wiz Khalifa, and Miguel. It was a huge production and can’t wait until next year to do it again. Take a look at some of my photos.

I’m producing a big event Saturday at Zouk. This is the old Starck Club which was considered the Studio 54 of Dallas, visited by Prince, Madonna and anybody who was somebody, back in the day. Zouk’s new owners are well connected to the music industry and had P. Diddy host their grand opening a few weeks ago. The event Saturday is a fashion, music, art event and the first of many Texas Next Top Designer events for 2011. I’ll be creating little vignettes all around this huge club so it won’t be the usual Dallas fashion presentation. Hope to see you there.
